I'm Not Her Blog Tour

I had the pleasure of interviewing Clark, one of Tess's good friends, from the novel I'm Not Her by Janet Gurtler. I hope you enjoy learning a little bit about him and I hope it makes you want to pick up the book (it is amazing)!

1.)   I understand that you and Tess have recently become great friends very quickly. What drew you to Tess? And do you hope to be more than friends in the future?

I noticed Tess when high school started. She’s super smart and seemed really sure of herself and is pretty in a way that isn’t fake. She never tries too hard to look good, like some of the girls in high school and doesn’t tone down her brains. Even though I thought she was kind of stuck up at first, when I got to know her I saw she was kind of shy and really in need of a good friend.  I think that the future will bring what it will bring and hopefully Tess and I will develop our friendship into more.

2.)   I know that Tess has her own nick-name for you. Can you explain what it is? And also, how do you feel about the name? Do you see it as fitting?

Tess calls me Superman because of my name which is Clark Trent.  Clark Kent being Superman’s secret identity. She thinks it’s hilarious and truthfully I actually love having a nickname even if she didn’t mean it as a compliment at first.  I am a pretty nerdy dude with glasses but I like that underneath it all, Tess might just see me as kind of a hero.

3.) What was your impression of Tess's sister, Kristina? How did you feel when you found out about her cancer?

Everyone at school knew who Kristina was even before she got sick. She’s totally beautiful and super popular and the girls looked up to her and most of the guys probably imagined being her boyfriend.  Actually I thought she seemed pretty cool though we’d never even talked. She didn’t seem as stuck up and conniving like some girls who look like her.

When I found out she had cancer I felt really bad for her, but also for her Tess who I know better.

4.) If you had the ability to go anywhere right now, where would it be and why?

I guess that doesn’t include a time machine right? So I could go back in time? Before I lost my best friend? Then how about Hawaii. I’ve always wanted to go there and I bet I would rock at surfing. Okay maybe not, but I’d love to snorkel!

5.) Please describe yourself in five words or less.

Quiet. Smart.  Strong.  Loyal.  Protective.

  1. This is great article on successful business. Business especially small one takes patience and old fashioned hard work to become successful.
