Book Blogger Hop (2011 - 17)

Book Blogger Hop
For those of you who are new to the Book Blogger Hop, hosted by Jennifer at Crazy-for-Books, this is Jennifer's description of the meme, "In the spirit of the Twitter Friday Follow, the Book Blogger Hop is a place just for book bloggers and readers to connect and share our love of the written word!  This weekly BOOK PARTY is an awesome opportunity for book bloggers to connect with other book lovers, make new friends, support each other, and generally just share our love of books!  It will also give blog readers a chance to find other book blogs to read!" (Crazy-for-books)

This week's question is...

When did you realize reading was your passion and a truly important part of your life?

Well... There were a few books I read when I was younger that made me discover that I liked reading. Two of those books were Fever 1793 by Laurie Halse Anderson, and The Witch of Blackbird Pond by Elizabeth George Speare. There were a few other books along the way that made me see how great reading could be... But I was young and in a place where reading wasn't "cool". So of course, I pretended like I hated it. To the point where I made myself believe that I hated it. It wasn't until 7th grade when I discovered a little book series called The Twilight Saga by Stephenie Meyer that I decided I loved reading. Since then I have been devouring books, more so now that I have this blog. Like it is ridiculous. Haha

  1. I LOVED The Witch of Blackbird Pond and Fever 1793. They were some of my all time favorite books as a kid. Glad to hear that someone else enjoyed them as well!

    Have a great weekend!

  2. I definitely remember how it was when reading wasn't "cool" - we should totally make it our mission to change that!
