Children of the Lost Moon by Gabrielle Blue Interview & Giveaway

Today I have an interview I did with two sisters, Cheryll and Tessa, who wrote Children of the Lost Moon under the pen name Gabrielle Blue. They were nice enough to ofter up a signed copy of their book to one lucky follower! So, I hope you enjoy.

Here's a little about the book...

17-year old Savannah Henderson has but one dream - to hold the Olympic gold in saber fencing. A new fencing coach promises to make her Olympic dream a reality. However, he is not what he seems and she finds her life taking a bizarre, dangerous turn as she is thrust headlong into a war between two impossible, mythical species, one bent on destroying the human race, the other determined to protect it.

1.) I understand that you and your sister co-wrote Children of the Lost Moon. How did you go about writing a book together? What was your process? 

We wanted one "voice" in the novel, so Tessa (the "Blue" half) did the actual BiC (Butt in Chair) writing stuff, and we both thought up plots and storyline.

2.) How did you come up with the pen name Gabrielle Blue?

Cheryll's nickname is "Gabby" and Tessa's middle name is "Blue" so Gabrielle Blue was born.

3.) Was writing something you both always aspired to do? 

At differing times, yes. Cheryll started writing in high school, and Tessa didn't write until the mid 80s, although she'd always been intrigued with writing.

4.) What is one fun fact about your book? Something that no one would know except you? (Secret inspiration, etc.) 

Roxy, the African Grey parrot, has a real smart mouth.

5.) Can you share your favorite line in your story? 

"You'll become a werewolf. And then I'll have to kill you." (This line sends shivers through both of us, every time we read it.)

6.) Was there a scene that jumps out as your favorite? Was there one that was particularly hard to write? 

The death of a minor, but beloved, character was the hardest thing we've ever written!

7.) How does the cover tie into the story, could you explain it? 

Panther... the shapeshifters' favorite animal to shift into is the panther - sleek and dangerous and FAST.

8.) To fans of which author/series/book would you recommend your book to? 

Probably the Twilight series' fans, although personally we feel it has a wide appeal. (Unless you're Team Jacob, of course.)

9.) Are you two planning on writing another book together? 

For now we're pursuing individual projects, but we're always open to doing a sequel to Children of the Lost Moon.
